Cianide - Gods of Death (2011)

Genre: Death/Doom Metal
Country: United States

So uh, in case you didn't know, Cianide is a death/doom band from Chicago that goes back to the early 90's. Gods of Death is another pounding offering from this outfit, altering between ransacking medium-paced death metal and crushing, plodding doom sections with some really nasty production. One of the better metal offerings so far this year, not to be missed.

Corrupted - El Mundo Frio (2005)

Genre: Sludge/Doom Metal
Country: Japan

So I guess Corrupted is coming out with a new album in a few days, which is superb news for anyone who loves this Japanese sludge/doom band (and really, who doesn't?). In honor of this here is their best album (that also happens to be their latest, until this new one drops), the 71-minute epic that is El Mundo Frio.

Acrostichon - Engraved In Black (1993)

Genre: Death Metal
Country: The Netherlands

Because your face is too clean and you need to bury it in this slab of filth from the land of orange-clad soccer players (and everything else). Also, the vocalist is female, and she does a damn great job...

Grand Belial's Key - Kosherat (2005)

Genre: Black Metal
Country: United States

Apologies for the lack of posts as of late, my computer died and I'm stuck on a fucking netbook until the parts for my new one arrive. Today's post isn't anything really unheard of but it does rule. Grand Belial's Key are a fantastic band who really haven't put out anything lackluster so you can't go wrong with Kosherat.
